Why do parents buy their kids motorized scooters and bikes? SHould younger kids need exercise?

Why do parents let their kids have motorized scooters and sit on the computer all day, nowadays?
More exercise when they're young means a more lively lifestyle in the future.
I'm not planning on it for my kids. I bought my daughter a tricycle.

What, do you hate America? We are the most advanced nation on Earth, and we should show it by having machines do everything for us; including our walking.

I agree they should get exercise. I dont see anything wrong with a motorized scooter for fun, but you can encourage them to do other activities. Like sports, or hiking. I think it all comes down to lazy parents, if all the parents want to do is put their child in front of a tv or computer then thats what the child will learn! Parents just need to be active with their kids.

I'm buying my son a motorized truck for his birthday. He runs around all day long so exercise is not a problem for him. I've never met a young child who DIDNT run around and play. Its fun buying your kids things u know will make them happy.
