I have never worked …
I have never worked on an Agility 125, but the procedure should be very similar. I *think* the clearance for the Agility 125 is 0.12mm (which is .0047 inches) so it’s a little bit higher than the Super8 shown in the video. You should check your manual (or consult with a shop) to confirm what the clearance should be.

I believe so, but I’m not 100% sure. From looking at some generic GY6 manuals, the Super8 does seem to have a lot in common.

You should do it …
You should do it every so often–see your owners manual; it should be listed in there. Typically it’s somewhere between every 2000 and 4000 miles. Generally, the interval is set to be “safe”…the valves/screws don’t wear so fast that a major problem would develop between checks.
With too much gap, you’ll notice a loss of power or an increase in engine noise. Too little gap and, the valves won’t close at the right point (or completely) and they’ll eventually burn up.

Thanks alot for …
Thanks alot for this video. I’ve always wondered what was meant by valve adjustment. This was a perfect example. One question, how do you know when you have to adjust the valves? Is it when you don’t have any power when you’re trying to accelerate? I bought a new scoot 3 months ago and it’s working. No reason to do the valve adjustments if the scoot is running fine? Or this is something you have to do every so often?

Had difficulty starting, stalling at stops and loss of power. I Followed the instructions above for my Pinnicle 150cc, and it worked. No more difficult starting, no more stalling at stops and top speed increased by 10mph. So thankful for this instructive video. I am a chiropractor, not a mechanic, and if I can do it, so can you.

I’m so fascinated …
I’m so fascinated by how an engine works like how did they think of this adjusting valves and timing and stuff like that? There’s a lot of really smart people in this world. Anyways keep up with the great videos and maybe make a video on how to adjust the carburetor on a 150cc scoot

Thanks! I believe …
Thanks! I believe the valves are closed. When a valve is open, the cam lobe would be pressing on the rocker arm, which would in turn be pressing on the valve stem. At that point, the tappet would be contacting the valve stem, so there would be no gap anymore. I think the reason the service manual says to measure clearance at TDC is that it’s a known point where both valves are sure to be closed.

great video just …
great video just one question. Do the valves have to be open when adjusting I thought they did?
