How come there are so much hate for scooter riders (even Maxi scooter riders) on Yahoo motorcycle Q/A?

You must remember that you can post answers on YA motorcycle section without ever having been on a motorcycle.
People who post on here about "girls bikes" or about scooters being "gay" are either just sh!t-stirrers or are posers.

In a word: bigotry.
If you don’t meet some person’s idea of what is the right thing to:
wear
ride
eat
drink
or
the right
cellphone
clothes
candy bar
or
( insert item that anyone thinks someone else should not have including gender, religious preference, color of skin, ethnic background)
then that person are less than they are.
Until we all start looking beyond ourselves and what we think makes us so special or insisting others give us special considerations for whatever reasons, then bigotries will never end.
We are all Human Beings, members of the Human Race … the only race that matters.
As for riding a scooter, if that’s what you want to ride, then ride it. It’s your money, your ride and your choice.
I currently ride a 1952 Cushman RoadKing Step-thru Scooter, btw.

Yeah, There’s some of that out there! I don’t pay much attention to them! In 40 years of riding, I’ve ridden just about everything. Since the beginning, it’s been about freedom, and getting "The Wind in my face!" You never see anything with two wheels near a Psychiatrists Office! Gabe

Because, that’s just the way some people are. Also, like you just did. Some people, group things together, in their own minds. Hate, is a strong, often incorrectly used word. Used by people, who are often just as bad, or worse. Than the people, they accuse.
Some people, seem to feel the need to. Express their opinion, no matter how true, or false, it is. Some times it’s, true hate. Most of the time it’s, envy, or just for the fun of it. Unlike, face to face. You almost, can’t get the crap beat out of you, behind a keyboard. Drama queens, are every where.

because a scooter is deffinately no motorcycle. it cant even compare. No power, no acceleration, no fun. its just alot cheaper and easier to ride.
Scooters are like fat chicks, they are all fun and games untill you get cought riding one! lol

Hate?
Too strong a term.
Disrespect? Seems to be some.
Like Bluffmike says, anyone can post.
What i see is that the majority of the regulars will help (if they can).
The ones who can’t stay quiet.
Now if you want something closer to hate, try asking about riding a pocket bike on the road.
Don’t forget to insist it’s a "Super pocket bike" and the ad says it’s legal.

I don’t agree with everything in this blog, but you do make some very good points. I’m very interested in this topic and I myself do alot of research as well.
