What Should I Spend My Money On? Ferret or Vespa?
Author: admin // Category: Scooter AccessoriesHere’s the low-down:
I’ve recently acquired a small fortune of $500. There are two things that I want really bad: A ferret and a Vespa-style moped. A moped runs about $700 and a ferret with all accessories will run about $500.
Ferret Pros:
I love animals and all I have is some aquariums. Keeping animals is what keeps me going. I’ve wanted a ferret since I was a kid, but have never been able to keep one. Now is a good time in my life to have a ferret. I understand that they smell and all that, I like them anyway. I’m quite familiar with them. I’ll be able to afford yearly vet bills and whatnot. I KNOW that I want a ferret.
Ferret Cons:
The pet fee at my place is going to be between $300 and $500, depending on what the landlord sees fit. Is it worth it for something so frivolous?
P.S. I know that some people think ferrets are nasty. I do not. Saying that they smell or bite will not convince me. I know and like ferrets. I’m awful.
Moped Pros:
All I have right now is a bicycle. I make enough money to take a cab every once in a while, but I mostly use a bike. A moped would make transportation much easier and much more convenient. It would make a lot of things easier in my life, and in the lives of the people who give me rides. I would be able to easily afford the basic insurance.
Moped Cons:
It requires me to look for one on Craigslist. I would have to pay upwards of $700 for a decent one. I’ve never ridden a moped, motor scooter, or motorcycle of any kind. I know very little about motor vehicles. Also, it won’t snuggle or make me feel needed or fill the weasel-shaped void in my soul.
Long story short, ferret = romantic, moped = practical. Do I follow my heart or my brain? Convince me not to buy a ferret, please.
P.s. Saving this money is out of the question. If I "save" it, I’ll end up spending it on eating out and going to the movies.
Get whichever you can afford in the Long run and want really bad.
A ferret- will you be able to care for a ferret in the long run for ages? They can live ten years. Will you be the one to adopt it out when you dont want it? Can you afford the time and money. The food the cage the supplies. What happens when you want to go on vacation. You have to find a way to take it or hire a sitter. What if it gets fleas or gets adrenal disease and it needs a thousand dollar surgery? Also what happens if your landlord changes his mind and doesn let you keepthe ferret anymore. Willyou risk it? Will you be able to put money into a fund for it? For a ferret you need time and money. Constantly. And both rack up pretty fast.
And I don’t know what a moped/ Vespa is but what happens if something goes wrong? What if it needs fixing and it costs ten grand? You obviously can’t get a loan I’m guessing.
Honestly the best thing to do is to think about your situation and not on asking us. I still think the best thing is to save up. Put it in a fund and never ever use it. When you save a lot of money you can get a ferret and be able to care for it right. Or the best brand Vespa/ moped there is. Think about it.
