If I’m a first time scooter buyer and rider and I’m 5′1" and 125lbs. what should I look for. Recently I’ve really had my eye on the yamaha vino classic, and the honda metropolitan. I want to know what I should worry about when buying and if I’m on the right track or not.
I’m worried about getting just a 50cc but I’m more concerned about getting a scooter that I can’t control and is too heavy.

I wouldn’t wish a 50cc scooter on my worst enemy — I don’t believe in torturing people before killing them. A 50cc scooter cannot keep up with speed of traffic on local streets; which leaves you in the middle of the lane where you belong blocking irate drivers or hugging the right edge of the road with irate drivers brushing past you and not very concerned if they bump you.

Try Yamaha’s Vino 125 instead. There’s also the Piaggio Fly 150, the kilobuck more expensive Vespa and the kilobuck cheaper Kymco.
